This week will be my last week at Sharp memorial. So far I've really enjoyed my time here. The staff are all very nice and kind, willing to help and answer any questions. I have gotten some great insights and advice from everyone here. From looking at all different kinds of specimens/body parts everyday I know what I would most be interested In pursuing. I enjoyed watching grossing legs and bones as opposed to mandible and other stuff. I've gotten a better idea of a medical environment. Every wing in the hospital is so different. Some areas are really quite and calm while others are hectic and there's always a lot going on. As I mentioned previously I've gotten great advice from pathologist at the lab. One of the pathologist was telling me that he had first worked in gynecology and then he transfered to a pathologist. He said he didn't really like working with patients as it can be hard seeing the patients struggled. He said he's really happy with the change and likes it even better. A pathologist looks at slides everyday to help determine the patients treatment and diagnosis. Pathologists don't have any contact with patients but they are an essential part.
