What advice would you pass on to future interns?- Week Five

The biggest advice I would give future interns is to have good communication skills. Communication is something that you will use everyday before and during your internship. Communicating not only with your mentor but with other workers and people at the site. With that said you have to put yourself out there. Making conversation with other workers at the site by just saying good morning. Doesn't have to be much but little things like that will help create relationships with the people at the site. In my experience my mentor wasn't there much through out all my internship. I was mostly with other workers. I didn't know anything about them so learning to communicate and putting myself out there was a big factor. Another advice is to ask lots of questions and stay evolved. I was at two sites, one where it was mostly observing with meant that in order to get something out of it I had to ask lots of questions on what they were doing or how things in the site worked. Compared to my other site I was busy filling slides but I made sure to always ask if there was anything else I could do to stay engaged/evolved.
